Adult Job Coach (Part-Time)

Hourly Rate: $16.98

Currently hiring for two openings:

1st Position - 6:00 a - 11:30a Monday-Friday

2nd Position - 11:00a - 4:30p Monday-Friday

The Adult Job Coach provides instruction in learning soft and hard vocational skills to guide individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to meet their vocational goals, through both classroom instruction and center and community-based services. This instruction includes learning to perform job tasks to the employer’s specifications and learning interpersonal skills necessary for employment. 12-15 hours/week. Must complete training during regular daytime business hours.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide on-the-job support and assistance to program participants, demonstrating and reinforcing skills to ensure success in a specific work setting.
  • Provide education and guidance in all areas related to obtaining and maintaining employment, such as accessing community services, assistive technology, interpersonal skills and socialization, community mobility, health and wellness, job search techniques, and job interviewing.
  • Develop task analysis for new job sites, determining goals and how to implement skill instruction.
  • Evaluate and document participants’ progress and challenges through monitoring their work, completing required forms and reports, observing participants’ behavior and employment status, and completing monthly site reviews.
  • Provide and coordinate daily supports needed at job sites to minimize job losses and meet contact requirements.
  • Provide training for Hope businesses: Hope is in the Details, Me for Me, Hope Cafes, etc.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1+ year of training or experience working with persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Valid IL driver’s license.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to life, push, pull, and carry up to 100 pounds using proper lifting and acceptable transfer techniques for persons with disabilities.

WHAT WE PREFER

  • More than 1 year of experience working with persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
