Job Description

DESCRIPTION

AWS Trust & Safety is responsible for investigating and managing violations of Acceptable Use Policy and misuse of AWS services. We investigate reports of misuse, identify patterns, and work with our customers to take action to reduce violations.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is built on the core principles of security, privacy, compliance, and transparency, which form the foundation of our trusted cloud infrastructure. We are seeking individuals who are dedicated to upholding these principles daily. Are you interested in joining our team to safeguard AWS and AWS customers from potential threats? We are currently in search of Automation Engineers for AWS Trust & Safety to play a pivotal role in protecting our customers and ensuring the integrity of our services in the face of those who may seek to exploit or misuse them.

In this position, you will be responsible for applying your extensive technical expertise, engineering knowledge, online services experience, and exceptional collaboration skills to effectively respond to threats and protect our cloud services from those who try to abuse them.

Key job responsibilities
You will work closely with other experts across AWS to investigate abuse of our services, automate our capabilities, develop tooling and data automation, and contribute your many experiences to protecting AWS and our customers. You will work to understand how AWS services are misused and abused, and disrupt these activities. We look for someone who has an interest in automating their way out of having to do the same thing twice, and is always thinking about how to scale what we do to millions of hosts and customers.

Working as a part of AWS Trust & Safety, you will work to solve issues related to the latest security trends and early warning indicators, as well as help design solutions for emerging threats. Trust & Safety is a team that constantly provides new opportunities to learn and grow.

- Design, develop, debug, and deliver tooling to assist the investigative and abuse response process.
- Own business process automation end to end from conception to development, deployment, and maintenance.
- Participate in on call rotations.
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Learn about and integrate with partner teams’ systems and processes to combat abuse.
- Collect, curate, and transform data to support advanced analytic creation and investigation automation.
- Contribute to T&S policies and standards.

A day in the life
In addition to your team, you consult with other teams within Trust & Safety such as Operations, Security, and Policy to define requirements for new tools and automation. You find creative ways to tie together multiple systems used by Trust & Safety and make them work together to cut down on manual effort.

About the team
Tooling and Automation is a new, but fast growing team within AWS Trust & Safety. Our mission is to support a highly skilled trust and safety workforce by managing repetitive, transactional work through automation, and equipping them with the tools to combat misuse of AWS services. Come help us build the future of Trust & Safety!
