We are excited to offer an outstanding leadership opportunity for a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) within a growing and high-performing health system. The CNO will play a pivotal role in leading clinical operations across ambulatory care services and contributing to the success of the executive leadership team. This role requires collaboration with physicians, senior management, and external partners to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care while driving quality improvements and operational excellence.
Position Overview
As Chief Nursing Officer, you will have full accountability for nursing practices and standards of care across all ambulatory services. This includes developing and implementing policies and protocols that align with state and federal regulations while ensuring compliance with organizational standards. The CNO will also collaborate closely with the Chief Medical Officer and other executive leaders to support the strategic mission and goals of the health system.
Your leadership will help shape the future of patient care, foster professional development among nursing staff, and ensure that clinical services consistently meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction for nursing practice, standards of care, and clinical operations across ambulatory services.
Collaborate with physicians and senior management to develop nursing protocols, policies, and procedures that comply with regulations and maintain high standards.
Lead strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.
Oversee clinical staff management, including workforce development, retention efforts, and competency enhancement.
Foster relationships with community partners, including nursing schools and professional organizations, to support workforce development and promote patient-centered care.
Drive efforts to improve patient safety, using Just Culture principles to advance the safety and quality of care.
Collaborate with medical and business leadership to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Master's degree in nursing, business, healthcare, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of senior nursing leadership experience, ideally within a large health system or multi-specialty group.
An unrestricted RN license from the State of Colorado or eligibility for multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact privileges.
Demonstrated experience with clinical leadership in ambulatory care settings and strong collaboration skills in matrixed organizations.
Proven track record of leading high-performing teams, improving patient experience, and driving operational success.
