In this senior role, you'll be at the helm of our philanthropic and marketing initiatives, working closely with the President/CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors. You'll set the strategy for fundraising and marketing, lead a dedicated team, and play a key role in our organization's growth and financial health.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage the annual fundraising budget and strategies to maximize efficiency and meet our objectives.
Strengthen existing funding sources and proactively seek out new and diverse revenue streams, focusing on major gifts.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, guiding them through a cycle of continued support to enhance both short and long-term funding.
Raise our profile and uphold our strong reputation through enhanced community partnerships.
Oversee and align development and marketing initiatives with our strategic plan, collaborating with the CEO to create effective tactics.
Manage and support the development and marketing teams, ensuring their goals align with our organization's overall strategy.
Handle a major gift portfolio, including stewardship and solicitation for charitable contributions.
Oversee the major gift process, including follow-up reporting and ensuring stewardship calls by the Board of Directors.
Manage our Legacy Society, including onboarding new members and engaging current members through educational and stewardship activities.
Design and implement donor recognition activities and programs.
Coordinate staff, President/CEO, and board involvement in donor activities and recognition.
Collaborate with department heads and program staff to align fundraising requests with program needs and explore donor engagement opportunities.
Assist board members in developing action plans to meet annual commitments.
Report on fundraising progress in board meetings and all-staff updates.
Monitor and analyze fundraising trends to maximize engagement and make recommendations.
Direct traditional and social media marketing efforts, working with the Marketing & Communications Manager.
Represent the organization publicly, communicating our mission and needs effectively to the public, sponsors, and media.
Support the Events Manager in planning and executing special events and evaluate their impact.
Provide coaching and regular feedback to staff, setting annual goals and ensuring achievement of objectives.
Deliver exceptional customer service to staff, volunteers, donors, and visitors.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications & Expectations
Bachelor's degree required; CFRE certification preferred.
At least seven years of non-profit fundraising management experience.
Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with board members, donors, and staff.
Proficiency in MS Office, database management software, and social media.
Excellent fundraising techniques and knowledge of industry best practices.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable interacting with animals.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
