Our Drone Services division leverages cutting-edge technology to enhance logistics, capture critical data, and optimise operational efficiency across various sectors, including rural deliveries, surveys, and surveillance. As we expand our operations in the USA, we are seeking a dedicated Flight Operations Team Leader to join our growing team in Michigan.

Role Description:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Flight Operations Team Leader to be the cornerstone of our new team in Michigan. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead the operational framework from the ground up. You will play a pivotal role in setting up robust processes, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring safe and efficient drone operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Flight Operations, you will be instrumental in building the foundation for our US-based flight operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Development: Establish and implement standardised operational procedures and best practices, aligned with regulatory requirements and Skyports’ standards.
  • Flight Planning and Execution: Oversee flight planning, mission execution, and post-flight analysis to ensure high-quality service delivery and data accuracy.
  • Safety and Compliance: Foster a strong safety culture, enforcing compliance with all aviation regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Team Development: Provide mentorship and professional growth opportunities for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and supporting their development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Flight Operations and other stakeholders to align operational strategies and ensure smooth execution of projects.
  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize operational risks and enhance mission success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in drone operations, with hands-on experience in field operations and project management.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role such as team leader, supervisor, or junior manager within the drone or aviation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UAS flight operations, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Ability to develop and implement operational procedures and maintain a high standard of documentation.
  • A valid Remote Pilot Certificate (e.g., Part 107) is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to be based in Michigan and travel for project requirements.

Benefits

  • Impact: Be part of a dynamic team at the forefront of drone technology, making a tangible impact on the industry.
  • Growth: Contribute to the foundational setup of our operations in the USA, with opportunities for professional development and career progression.
  • Innovation: Work in a forward-thinking environment that values new ideas and innovative solutions.

We are excited to build our team in Michigan and look forward to bringing on board a passionate and driven individual ready to take on this exciting challenge. If you have the experience and ambition to help us shape the future of drone services, we encourage you to apply!
