Responsibilities

  • Position Purpose: The General Manager is responsible for providing leadership, directing, and delegating daily operational challenges to assistant managers, ensuring compliance in all areas of operations: production, customer satisfaction, inventory management, team management, equipment maintenance and repair, financial management, and profit accountability.
  • Protects the brand by ensuring that restaurants meet operational standards, food safety regulations, and labor laws.
  • Demonstrates a Customer-First Service approach by consistently observing restaurant operations, troubleshooting shift management, taking on-the-spot corrective actions, and recognizing successes.
  • Proactively teaches and coaches restaurant managers and leadership teams to execute the 12 restaurant systems that produce consistently high levels of quality, service, and cleanliness.
  • Partners with Subject Matter Experts (e.g., Operations Consultant, Training Consultant) to conduct system review days and develops action plans to address three systems targeted for improvement.
  • Responsible for executing the action plan in each restaurant to ensure systems are improved and targeted results are achieved.
  • Ensures that restaurants properly execute Local Store Marketing (LSM), national and co-op promotions, and the launch of new products and processes.
  • Collaborates with the Operations Manager to develop the annual business plan for the Profit Center.
  • Utilizes all available information resources (e.g., restaurant data, standard visits, customer experience visits, hotlines, bottom-line commitment, quality control reports, operations reports, P&L) to identify opportunities and threats to optimizing restaurant potential and adjusts business plan tactics accordingly.
  • Consults and is accountable for creating a positive work environment while working closely with restaurant managers and leadership teams to achieve business results (increased customer counts, increased sales, and increased profits).
  • Completes various audits to ensure that restaurants meet standard practices and procedures (e.g., cash, security).

  • Demonstrates Customer-First Service by observing operations, troubleshooting management issues, taking corrective actions, and recognizing successes.
  • Proactively teaches and coaches restaurant managers and leadership teams to execute the 12 restaurant systems (QSC Playbook) that achieve high QSC levels.
  • Partners with Subject Matter Experts (e.g., Operations Consultant, Training Consultant) to review systems and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Ensures action plans are executed in each restaurant to enhance systems and achieve targeted results.
  • Ensures proper execution of Local Store Marketing (LSM), national promotions, and new products and processes.

Business Results:

  • Works with the Operations Manager to develop the annual business plan for the Profit Center.
