The Jefferson Central Appraisal District has an opening for an IT/GIS Specialist position. Qualified candidates must have an Associate of Applied Science Degree. The applicant must be a self-starter; have good working knowledge of PC Services; must be strong in remote troubleshooting of Windows based desktops and servers and must be a quick learner. Responsibilities include troubleshooting computer hardware or software problems; perform regular system backups and maintenance to servers; provide solid security measures for all PC/Server equipment; help to train other staff in assisting these tasks; reads and interprets metes and bounds descriptions on property documents; uses GIS equipment to input data and do computerized mapping; writes queries on the data bases tied to topography.
