Quality Assurance Analyst supports the food safe and quality program. The Analyst will perform a variety of quality assurance activities including product review, quality control tests, and sensory to ensure compliance with quality standards. This position a non-exempt, full-time, and fully benefited position reports to the Director of Quality.
Responsibilities:
Follow and carry out company Quality Policy on all required Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality and food safety requirements.
Drive culture change in continuous improvement in food safety and quality.
Ensure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in designated areas by conducting Good Manufacturing Practice Audits.
Review Critical Control Point and Preventative Control Documentation.
Investigate root cause and implement Corrective Action/Preventative actions for quality or food safety incidents.
Investigate complaint registration and root cause and implement corrective actions.
Support internal audits and training to assure SQF code compliances.
Cocoa Bean Management: execute quality and sensory of cocoa beans. Support supplier improvement for cocoa bean suppliers.
Product Release: coordination and release of finished goods.
Execute hold and release of all finished products and ingredients.
Perform routine and ad-hoc inspections, tests, and audits to verify product quality, including texture, color, taste, and packaging.
Support internal and external food quality and safety audits, and report and track corrective actions.
Support the quality control team as a backup technician.
Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's in Food Science or equivalent, required.
3+ years' experience in a food lab or manufacturing facility preferred.
SQF certification and FSMA knowledge are preferred.
Communicate effectively with other departments, management, and employees, including notifying appropriate teams when problems and/or concerns arise.
Work independently or within a team, with and without supervision.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task to ensure that all job functions are completed accurately in a timely manner.
Strong mathematical and data processing skills.
Well organized and attention to detail.
Able to perform in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with computer systems and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office).
