Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sign Language Interpreter to join our remote team and provide essential interpreting services for students in Montana. This contract-based, remote position offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact by helping students who are deaf or hard of hearing access their education through American Sign Language (ASL).

Position Overview:

As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will support students in real-time by interpreting classroom lessons and school activities remotely. Your role will ensure that students can fully engage in their education and participate equally in the school environment, all from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities:

Real-time ASL Interpretation: Provide remote interpretation of lessons and activities for students in a virtual classroom setting.
Facilitate Communication: Ensure seamless communication between students and educators by using ASL to convey classroom discussions, instructions, and interactions.
Student Engagement: Help students fully participate in academic lessons and extracurricular activities by interpreting in a way that meets their individual needs.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, staff, and other professionals to foster an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of services rendered, including session notes and student progress reports.
Support: Offer real-time assistance for any emerging communication needs during virtual sessions to ensure a smooth learning experience.

What You'll Need:

Active Certification: Current Sign Language Interpreter certification.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in educational interpreting or in similar settings.
Remote Service Experience: Experience with remote or teletherapy services is a plus.
Proficiency in ASL: A strong command of American Sign Language to provide clear and accurate interpretations.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using virtual platforms and technology to conduct remote sessions.
Location Requirement: Must be located in Montana.

Compensation:

Independent Contractor Status: This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
Competitive Pay: Compensation is based on experience and caseload, ensuring a fair and competitive rate for your skills and expertise.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 70,000.00 Per Hour
