Job Description

BladeWorks Landscaping is looking for a few experienced snowplow and skid/end loader operators to join our snow removal team(s). Valid driver's license and experience operating machinery required. As part of the snow removal team, you will assist in clearing snow from walks, driveways, and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties in the Cedar Rapids / Marion areas. Hours vary and often include early mornings / late nights due to unpredictable winter weather; on call per Mother Nature.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and safely work around large equipment/vehicles to clear snow.
• Correctly log and report hours to direct supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining safe driving conditions through the removal of snow and application of salt/sand.

Qualifications:

• Must be reliable in reporting to work and recording hours.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs on a daily basis.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Experience operating skid and/or end loaders or snowplow required.

Wage is paid hourly based on experience, qualifications, and safety record, starting at $25/hour. This is a seasonal position, however opportunities exist for year-round full-time employment in our Landscaping and Lawn Care divisions.

BladeWorks Landscaping started in 1992. We provide commercial and residential property care: landscaping, lawn services, tree care, snow removal, and commercial holiday lighting. Over the years, our landscaping business grew and we began to see the need to open our own retail garden center to better serve our clients. Blooms Garden Center and Gift Shop opened in 2017. We carry annuals, vegetables, herbs, perennials, grasses, shrubs, evergreens and trees. The Gift Shop is filled with unique gifts, handmade goods, houseplants and home and garden décor.
