Job Summary: Join the Office of Undergraduate Admissions team at a "Great College to Work For" on the beautiful UWF campus just minutes from the beach. The Student Services/ Admissions Representative will earn 7 hours of annual leave and 4 hours of sick leave on a biweekly basis, equating to 22 days of annual leave plus 13 days of sick leave per year. In addition to paid leave, you will receive 8 paid holidays plus a paid winter holiday break from Dec. 24 through Jan. 1. The Student Services/ Admissions Representative will also have the opportunity to choose between a variety of retirement plans and select from affordable healthcare insurance plans. The Admissions Representative is responsible for the recruitment of students through attendance at college and career programs as well as visiting high schools and community colleges both in-state and out-of-state, as assigned. The incumbent represents UWF at Open House programs, high school award nights, on-campus school visits and serves as a contact for prospective and current undergraduate students regarding their educational options. The incumbent works directly with prospective students and their families to help them navigate the admission process; evaluates freshman applications for admission; and, provides regular follow-up communication with applicants who need more support before being admitted in addition to any other duties as needed. This position is expected to travel extensively.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Position Qualifications: Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, CICS, Slate CRM, Admissions ACT/SAT/TOEFL scales, procedures for calculating undergraduate, graduate, and international GPA based on a 4-point or equivalent scale, ability to use internet resources. Strong communication and counseling skills. Ability to discuss sensitive information with respect to applicant privacy. Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and ability to work independently with creative, problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications College or University admissions experience, tour guide experience in a university setting, resident assistant experience. Ability to communicate to small and large groups, including but not limited to populations from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Strong public speaking skills and strong commitment to customer service. Knowledge of Banner.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
- 30% - Evaluate freshman applications for admission. Work directly with prospective students who do not meet the admission criteria to discuss ways to improve an applicant's eligibility for admission. Counseling prospective students and their families on the educational opportunities, student services and transitional issues involved with enrolling at UWF. - (Essential)
- 30% - Travel extensively to assigned territory to actively recruit students through high school visits, college fair participation, and other recruitment-related programming conducted on behalf of UWF. Travel expectations include in-state and some out-of-state recruitment trips and at times may require overnight travel or extended travel. Represent UWF at recruitment events providing information about UWF and its various offerings to prospective students, their families and other pertinent audiences and groups of all backgrounds. - (Essential)
- 20% - Communicate with, and respond to questions from, admitted students, parents, and counselors via e-mail, phone, US mail, webcam, chatroom or any other technology-driven method, or in person (including requesting prospective student packets, counselor packets, etc.). - (Essential)
- 10% - Professional, oral presentations for audiences of small groups and families to large groups up to 500+ people. Primary audiences include: prospective students, high school counselors, principals, parents, teachers, and officials from other colleges and universities, personnel from national testing agencies, professional colleagues within national organizations as well as other UWF colleagues. - (Essential)
- 5% - Assisting in the management, administration, and implementation of programs related to enrollment, but which are executed by other departments across the University. These efforts include, but are not limited to: orientation, immunization-gathering, special-events, athletics, advising, marketing, commencement, and financial aid. - (Essential)
- 5% - Interpret and implement university, state, and federal policies and procedures. Assist with and/or participate in Enrollment/University events as needed. Other duties as assigned based on departmental, unit and/or divisional needs. - (Essential)
