Job Posting: Sylvan @ Schools Tutor for Los Angeles Area Schools Overview: Sylvan Learning, the industry leader in supplemental education, is seeking dedicated Tutors to join our team in the Los Angeles area to provide tutoring on school sites. The majority of this tutoring will occur at local elementary schools providing essential reading and math tutoring. Locations: We have participating schools in the Los Angeles area. You will also be hosted by a local Sylvan Learning Center nearest you. Duration: Sylvan @ Schools Tutors can expect to work during the school year and on any summer contracts. Compensation:

• Training rate: $17/hour (approximately 8-16 hours for new hires)
• Daily rate: $68/day for 2-hours of class instruction, $95 for 3-hours of class instruction, $125 for 4-hours of class instruction (daily rate includes up to 30 minutes of set-up, clean-up time, and transition time…If more is required, this will be paid at $30 per hour).

• Tutors can expect to tutor classes between 2 hours to 4 hours per day (most will be 3), 3 to 5 days per week with time on either side for set up and break down. Tutors will be assigned to a specific school.
• Tutoring will occur between 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM and may vary based upon the needs of the school and their bell schedule. Tutors are required to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled tutoring to park, enter campus, and set up.
• Start date at school site: August 19, 2024; online and in-person training will occur before this date. Professional development will be provided as needed throughout the time of employment.
• End date: Approx. Mid June, 2025 (Renewal in fall for teachers who would like to stay contracted)
